1999.10.10 Berlin

After a long night on the train we arrived to the new capital of a reunified Germany. Gray and rainy. Well, that cannot be helped. We visited the city and its museums. There are over 300 cranes at this moment building the city, but I feel that they have forgotten the old west section. We were also impressed by some remaining bullet holes in some buildings.

Después de una larga noche en el tren llegamos a la nueva capital de la Alemania reunificada. Gris con lluvia. Bueno, eso no tiene remedio. Visitamos la ciudad y sus museos. Hay mas de 300 grúas en este momento construyendo la ciudad, pero me parece que han descuidado la otrora sección occidental. También nos impresionaron algunos hoyos de balas que quedan en unos edificios.

Post longa treinnokto ni arrivis al la nova ĉefurbo de la reunigita Germanio. Griza kaj pluvplena. Do, oni ne povas tion helpi. Ni vizitis la urbon kaj ĝiajn museojn. Estis pli ol 300 arganoj kiu konstruas la urbon, sed mi opinias ke ili forgesis la antaŭnomatan oksidentan parton. Ni ankaŭ estis impresinta pri restinta kugltruoj en iom konstruaĵoj.

Still, we enjoyed our walks. We began our tour of Guggenheim museums in Europe (all 3 of them!) by visiting Berlin's Guggenheim, where we saw an excellent exhibit of east European women artists from early this century.

Sin embargo, disfrutamos nuestras caminatas. Empezamos nuestro tour por los museos Guggenheim de Europa (¡los 3!) Visitando el museo Guggenheim de Berlín, allí vimos una excelente exhibición de mujeres artistas de Europa oriental de principios y mediados de siglo.

Tamen, ni ĝuis niajn promenojn. Ni komencis nian rondo por la museoj Guggenheim de Eŭropa (la tri de ili!) kiam ni vizitis la Berlinan Guggenheim-n, tie ni rigardis tre bonan ekzposiziaĵon de Eŭroksidenta artistinoj de ĉi centjaro.

We were a little sick and had a fever from so much walking and sausage eating. We spent the night in the Comfort Inn, which was actually very comfortable. I'd like to see what becomes of Berlin in ten years or so.

Nos enfermamos ligeramente con un poco de fiebre por tanto caminar y comer salchichas. Pasamos la noche en el Comfort Inn, el cual estaba bastante confortable. Me gustaría saber en que se convierte Berlín en unos diez años.

Ni malsaniĝis kaj febriĝis iomete ĉar multaj da promenado kaj kolbasmanĝado. Ni transnoktis en la Comfort Inn, kiu estis sufiĉe komforta. Mi antaŭrigardas en kia loko Berlino turniĝis en proksimume dek jaroj.
